The 33rd edition of the Jazz Festival of Terrassa brings 25 concerts and a lot of activities, which will take place from 13th to 30th March.
The Catalan and international musical scene comes back to this festival, which will start with the presentation of Víctor de Diego Trio’s last CD, “Tribute”. Other groups will also present their new projects, as Carme Canela & Joan Monné Trio or the saxophonist Guim Garcia-Balasch.
There are other important bands that will be in the Jazz Festival of Terrassa, like the French trio RST, Cedric Burnside, the guitarist Bill Frisell, the trumpet player Terell Stafford (who will review the work of Billy Strayhon), the Girona Jazz Project (who will do the same with Charlie Parker) and the Barcelona Jazz Orquestra (which will revive unknown repertoire from the Dizzy Gillespie Big Band).
More than 250 musicians and almost 20 different locations will give shape to this new edition, where the Nova Jazz Cava will continue with its fundamental role. Side events (cinema sessions, exhibitions, conferences, classes and concerts) will happen in different places of Terrassa.
But we want to specially emphasize the Picnic Jazz Vallparadís, which is still one of the main activities of the festival, an outdoor free concert that this year will have the concerts of Locomotora Negra & Marina Tuset, Jordi Rabascall Quintet and the Travellin’ Brothers Big Band.
