The 60th edition of Maria Canals Competition, which will take place from 22nd to 3rd April, will become Barcelona the world capital of the piano.
The Palau de la Música Catalana hosts this new edition of the competition, which will involve 88 young pianists arrived from 28 different countries. As is tradition on Saturday 22nd the competition will promote the figure of young musicians with the presence of 36 pianos scattered through the city, this activity is part of the 200 scheduled for these days.
The 60th edition of the competition coincides with the centenary of the birth of Maria Canals, for this reason the organisation publish a book that highlights her work.
This is the first edition in which outside Barcelona fans will enjoy the competition, with events in Badalona, Sant Cugat, Manlleu and Cervera. You can check all the activities of the competition in the MCB Guide.
