The International Fair about ceramics and mud or “Fira del càntir” (The pitcher Fair) is celebrated in Argentona (Maresme) since 1951 and it counts with the participation of 90 craftsman from every part of the world who came there to show and sell their creations. Nowadays, this is one of the most important handmade fair at open air in southEurope.
The origin of this fair was in Sant Domènec meeting, celebrated in Argentona every 4 of August, until now. The success of this fair replaces the public holiday in town for this fair. There we can found four different sections: mud traditional, mud popular, artistic ceramic and reproduction of ancient ceramic.
Other activities
Despite the main fair activities, there is also a lot of complementary activities that allow visitors know better ceramic and mud art. That’s why we can find workshops, demonstrations, speeches and other cultural activities related as concerts, book presentations and audiovisuals.
